Environmentally Preferred Power
The city also purchases Environmentally Preferred Power (EPP) in an effort to help promote renewable energy. EPP is power generated by sources that are determined to have environmental benefits.
Blaine’s EPP is generated by the Wyoming Wind Projects, Idaho Falls, and Packwood Hydroelectric facilities. The amount of EPP purchased is equivalent to 3% of the city’s power purchased from BPA. If you have any questions about EPP or would like to see the city’s participation in this program increase, please contact the Public Works Department.
