On June 30, 2022, The Department of Ecology (ECY) notified Washington State Cities and Counties that the substantial development dollar threshold will increase to $8,504.00 as of July 1, 2022. The Washington State Office of Financial Management (OFM) is required to adjust the dollar threshold every five years based on inflation. The last adjustment was in 2017 ($7, 047).
