Civil Service Commission

Overview

The Civil Service Commission pursuant to the authority conferred by Chapter 13 of the Laws of 1937 of the State of Washington Chapter 41.12 RCW, is comprised of 3 members to execute the powers and perform the duties established by such state law in connection with the selection, appointment, and employment of police.

The members are appointed by the city manager. The members serve without compensation and shall have the qualifications described by Section 3 of the acts cited in Blaine Municipal Code (BMC) 2.52.010. The commission shall hold meetings, adopt rules and regulations, and perform the duties and exercise the powers of such commission in compliance with the state law governing same.
