What is Warrant Amnesty?
During the period of October 4, 2017 through October 25, 2017, Blaine Municipal Court in Whatcom County is offering a warrant amnesty program to assist individuals who face arrest due to past failure to appear in court on the misdemeanor charges of Driving While License Suspended in the 3rd degree (RCW 46.20.342.1C). Under the program, anyone with an outstanding warrant issued before September 27, 2017 for the charge of DWLS 3rd may come to the Blaine Municipal Court without having to pay a warrant quash fee of $100.00 and take this opportunity to resolve their outstanding court cases. THIS AMNESTY PROGRAM IS ONLY FOR CHARGES OUT OF BLAINE MUNICIPAL COURT FOR THE OFFENSE OF DWLS 3RD!
Why is the Court allowing amnesty?
Blaine Municipal Court and the city incur costs in maintaining and serving active warrants. Now is the time for people to take advantage of this chance to clear an old charge. Once the amnesty period ends, all active warrants will be enforced. People are encouraged to appear at the Blaine Municipal Court located at 435 Martin Street, Suite 4000, Blaine, WA 98230, in order to avoid future arrest due to an outstanding warrant.
When is the amnesty period?
To utilize warrant amnesty, citizens may contact the court via phone or email to set up a court date for the month of October 2017. Court dates available for this program are every Wednesday morning in the month of October from 8:45 AM thru 11:00 AM. The court is located at 435 Martin Street, Suite 4000 on the fourth floor.
